Activity: Spend an afternoon with your
grandchild exploring. Help them to see the world they are living in, at the
same time take the opportunity to see it from their perspective. Walk around
the block or around the park. Lie on the grass and look for four leaf clovers,
while you are down there, grandpa, look around and see the world as if you were
2' tall. Lie back and look at the sky watch for airplanes, birds, maybe the
moon is out today. Pick up a piece of tan bark from the play ground and see how
you can break it into pieces. Wiggle your toes in the sand. Roll down a grassy
hill. Sit and watch a stop light turn colors and talk about the different
colors and what is expected from drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians. It
doesn't matter if you do one all of the list above. Spending the time with your
grand child is what is important. If there is a story to tell be sure to write
to us and tell us of your experience.
Grandchildren are God's way of compensating us for growing old. ~Mary H. Waldrip
