Dad's are strength for the child.
The toddler will look to Dad for security, stability and strength. He is the
protector.
I cannot think of any need in
childhood as strong as the need for a father's protection. Sigmund Freud
Project:
Walk of fame: Your children will be proud as they walk around
the backyard and see their handprints in steps around the yard. Make
a wood frame, it can be any size you wish. If space is an issue you
can make them 12"x12". Let the child help mix the cement.
Point out how you can pour it out of the container. Remind them
after it dries what it was like and now it is hard. Place their
hands in the wet cement and write their name, date. Let them add a
touch of their own or embed a toy. You can add an new step each year
for each child.
Activity:
Our world has become so busy and so technology oriented we are
forgetting the simple things most of us will remember with fondness.
When your dad put you up on his shoulders and gently bounced around
giving you a start into amusement park rides, or got down on his
hands and knees and let you ride on his back like a horse. He would
lay on his back and pick you up in the air with his hands on our
stomach's and up and down you would go. All of this shows strength
to your child. It can be a comforting and fun activity.
Blessing: For he chose us in him before the creation of the world
to be holy and blameless in his sight. Ephesians 1:4 niv
